The Establishment of Adidam
April, 1972 — In April 1972, Avatar Adi Da established a small bookstore on Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, which He intended to become a base for His Spiritual Work, a place where He could gather with His devotaees. He Himself did the lion's share of the renovation, with help from a few of His devotees.

The Gorilla Sermon
June 22, 1972 —At the Melrose Ashram in Los Angeles, Adi Da Samraj gives the talk, “The Gorilla Sermon”, which is later published in The Method of the Siddhas (and now available in My "Bright" Word). Adi Da: "You are just beginning to Awaken. I am like the sunlight in the morning. I intensify the light of morning until you Awaken. Until the Light Awakens you, even the Light of Consciousness Itself, you continue to dream, try to survive within the dream, manipulate yourself within the dream, pursue all kinds of goals, searches — none of which Awaken you. Those who are Awakening in Truth begin to notice something. They begin to recognize the signs. They begin to recognize the activity of dreaming. They begin to sense something very unusual about Me. I Am your own True Self-Nature Appearing within the dream to Awaken you. I Am your Awakening, and your Always Already Conscious State."

The Knee Of Listening
August 2, 1972 — Adi Da's first book, The Knee of Listening is published by CSA Press, Georgia. (Later in 1972, Adi Da would create the Dawn Horse Press for the publication of all His books.) Adi Da's Spiritual Autobiography has transformed the lives of thousands of secular and religious seekers since it was first published in 1972.
