Charles
Syrett has been a devotee of Adi Da since 1980. He is a mapmaker by
profession, and the owner of Map
Graphics, which makes street maps, some of which you may actually
have in your glove compartment or telephone directory. His company
also makes maps for websites, CD-ROMs, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
His clients are from all over the world, and have included Comcast
, L.L. Bean, Oracle, and Reader’s Digest. Charles has also put his
mapmaking skills to good use in his service to Adi Da, mapping the
Adidam Sanctuaries
in support of the ongoing process of Sanctuary development.

I do business under the name Map Graphics, creating custom maps
of all kinds for clients all over the world. For many years, this
business has been internet-based, with almost all of my work coming
from people who find me on the internet.
In 2002, I had become dissatisfied with the kinds of projects that
had been coming to me this way, because most of them were small
"one-off" projects that required almost as much administration time
as large projects, but made less money. I found myself working late
and on weekends, processing orders and setting up jobs for my workers
to work on. The pattern was out of balance, and I wasn't making
enough money to make it worthwhile.
Resorting to the "religious means" Beloved Adi Da has Given us,
I began to engage the
Devotional Prayer of Changes, affirming a more balanced and
lawful business pattern. I knew that with the random element of
the internet, there was plenty of room for the psycho-physics to
respond to Beloved Adi Da's Grace and to change.
A couple of weeks before the Prosperity Puja in 2002, I received
an email from a client in Florida who is a web developer. One of
his clients is one of the largest home builders in the United States,
and he had been trying to secure a contract for me to create maps
for their website.
In the email, he said "I just wanted to let you know, that my client
has officially closed the door on doing maps for each branch office.
. . So after much debate with them, it appears that this isn't going
to happen." I called him and discussed it with him, but he assured
me it wasn't just a pricing matter; they just flat didn't want to
do it!
I persisted with the Devotional Prayer of Changes, certain that
a change would appear somewhere.
On the morning after the Prosperity Puja at The
Mountain of Attention Sanctuary on Beloved
Adi Da's Jayanthi, I received a very different email from my
client: "Good News! I have gotten approval for you to do all of
the locator maps, as well as maps for one of their subsidiaries."
They had somehow reversed their decision that very morning.
This is one of the largest single orders I have ever landed from
my website business — and it went from being "dead-in-the-water"
to being very much alive! All of this occurred without any significant
effort on my part. What's more, this order enabled me to go on retreat
for several weeks, while one of my employees kept the project going.
There is no doubt in my mind about the efficacy of Prayer and Puja
that is based on invoking Adi Da's All-Accomplishing Power. May
all beings be Blessed to come to the Feet of the Divine Person Incarnate,
Ruchira Avatar Adi Da Samraj.
