2020 Image-Art Calendar

In 2008, Adi Da personally directed the development of the first Transcendental Realism calendar of His Divine Image-Art — including its monumental scale, quality of image reproduction, and layout. The calendar has brought great joy and beauty to the home of devotees, Da Plastique public contacts, families and friends for the last nine years.

2020 marks the twelfth consecutive year Da Plastique has produced an Image-Art calendar. We are thrilled to announce that the 2020 Image-Art calendar is now at the printer!

2020 is the 20th Anniversary of the Celebration of the Initiation of Free Light-Imagery.

From 1998 – 2002, black-and-white photography was the focus of Adi Da Samraj's artistic work. In 1999, while speaking about His artistic work, Adi Da said, "The heart sees in black-and-white." On June 22, 2000, a breakthrough event occurred with Adi Da Samraj’s photographic artwork. He described it as the day He overcame the point-of-view limitations inherent in the camera by keeping the exposure open for long periods of time while moving His camera through space — effectively painting with light. This created what He described as "Bright Field Images". He later identified June 22, 2000 as a breakthrough event in His artistic work and the "Initiation of Free Light-Imagery".

2000 was also the first year Adi Da Samraj began using multiple exposures in His photographic work — something He would use for years thereafter as a visual demonstration of artwork that transcends "point-of-view" (which He saidwas synonymous with "ego").

In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Initiation of Free Light-Imagery, the 2020 Image-Art Calendar features important works from Adi Da's black-and-white photography during the years 1999 and 2000. Each of the 12 black and white photographs is a most beautiful demonstration of Beloved Adi Da's Divine Image-Art as Conscious Light.
