Today In Adidam
Adidam History: Thursday, April 3 (today)
Adi Da Samraj gives the talk "The Invisible Man", at The Mountain Of Attention. "A lot of what the guru does, apparently as teacher, is an attempt to confuse or paradox you beyond any interest in the teaching, any interest in anything else, experiences or whatever so that you will become available in that raw form to the Guru-Siddhi. In the meantime, individuals confuse the Guru-Siddhi with the forms of Gnosis and the forms of process, and that is why the Guru must teach. His function is not obvious. He is like an invisible man who cannot communicate, who is not only invisible but who has no sensory way to communicate himself to you. There's no way of knowing he's there. There's no way of knowing that the Guru function is present. Just because it's present in the form of some human being doesn't mean that it's knowable. It is announced. It is pointed to. It is served in the forms of the teaching."
At The Mountain Of Attention, Adi Da writes the essay, "I Am John", which would later appear in The Enlightenment Of The Whole Body. "Therefore, I have lived as a serving brother among my devotees. Since childhood I have been called Bubba, meaning brother. And by this role and all its friendly excesses I have made my friends to see themselves. Thus, when they had learned their lessons in my own form, they began to 'hear' and 'see' me through God-Feeling. And when I felt them grow transparent through that love, I sought a place of Solitude in which to wait in Brightness. I am John, through whom God is Gracious, and who is therefore Free among the living."

Quote for April 3, 2025
The exclusion of true or esoteric religion has been the business of the State since ancient times. At first this was done via the establishment of the popular idealism of exoteric religious institutions in league with the State. But in modern times the same process is done by the strategic exclusion of conventional religious cultism, mystical idealism, and higher evolutionary Wisdom from the mechanisms of popular culture.
In the realm of popular culture, scientific and political materialism is in power. And the essence of official popular propaganda is fundamentally anti-religious and devoted to an exclusively materialistic interpretation of Man and Nature. The "allowable" or semi-official cults of the yet remaining religious establishment continue to serve as exoteric religious extensions of the secular State. But all non-establishment cults of free religious, mystical, and spiritual experimentation and practice are constantly the subjects of negative propaganda in the popular communications media. And "intellectual leaders" are constantly agitating against esoteric and non-establishment religious cultism — and especially against the possibility that any religious or spiritual leader achieve a position of widespread influence and power in the midst of the secular order. (Therefore, university intellectualism and popular criticism generally oppose, or at least work to maintain the disposition of doubt relative to, religion, religious institutions, mysticism, and the naturally dominant role of the Living God and true Spiritual Masters in the esoteric culture of true religion.)
