The Florence Dance Company at the Bargello Museum
— The
Florence Dance Company performed their work, Quattro Maggiore
("Four Seasons") — see below
— against the backdrop of Adi Da's Image-Art, in the
inner courtyard of the Bargello
Museum in Florence, from September 26th through September
30th, 2009. The Bargello is world-renowned for its sculpture
collections, which include masterpieces by Michelangelo and
Donatello. The performances were the final event in Florence's
annual Teatri
Aperti ("Open Theater") Festival.
The director of the Bargello Museum, Beatrice
Paolozzi Strozzi, said that Adi Da’s art is excellent and
she hopes to have more occasions where it will show at the
museum in the future. (The Bargello is just beginning to show
contemporary art in the Bargello this year in addition to
their world renowned Renaissance collection.)
